Sorry for the late update, and sorry in advance for the late update next week, Jesse's son is getting married next Saturday, so everything is a blur here lately. We Got another newbie to our group, again brought by Devin (and Ashley) Her name is Kayla and she's also a Jr. High Student. Parents, so you know, Thursday, October 9Th We're trying to get Pastor Patrice here to do a talk on True Love waits, and all our youth will be signing an abstinence contract, and receiving a ring. This week we had chicken (Thank you Cherri) and talked about what a personal relationship with God really means, most of our youth didn't know that Jesus wants to be our friend and alot of them are pretty angry at God. Which id OK, because as long as they're open to admitting that, they're open to learning about who He really is and how much he really loves them. Since our discussion got so intense, we decided to end a little early and get into some apples to apples, and old favorite from the Jim days! I'll post some pictures of the youth in the praise band this week, since I don't have time now..
God Bless!

How Parents Can Help
Parents,
Since we are holding youth group at our house, we'll need a parent there with us every week. We'd like each parent to volunteer on a rotation, which will get easier as our youth gets bigger. Also since the task of feeding teenagers is like feeding a bunch of hungry tigers, We'd also like volunteers to bring food. Please let us know when you're available to help. You can contact us at Jesse@JessetheJeweler.com

This week we decided to support the United Methodist Men by attending their dinner, which would have been great, except we forgot to sign some of our youth up (like our own) and we had 2 unexpected youth attend (which we are insanely happy about). Zack, 7th grade and Trevor, 9th grade enjoyed our evening with us. So since a bunch of us didn't eat we moved the whole operation to Cazoni's pizza in Cape Canaveral. With all the to do over moving the group and everyone needing to eat, we weren't able to begin our study "Doing Life Together" but we'll get started next week. We'd also like each of our youth to bring a bathing suit to keep at our house, since we'll be swimming mostly every week.
Get to know Jesse and Dawn
Jesse and I were married June 3, 2005 in the First United Methodist Church on Cocoa Beach. We run a small jewelery store in Cape Canaveral. We were always very involved in the youth group when it was run by Jim and Nancy Mitchell (we all miss you guys) and are excited about the opportunity to keep things rockin! We have 6 kids of our own, 1 in the group. We're stoked to help your kids get closer to God and really focus on that personal relationship! We plan not only on continuing mission trips, but also starting them here, in our own communities. We believe that the best way to serve God is to serve others and have lots of ideas on how we can do that. So lets get this thing started!!!!!
OPERATION WORSHIP
The goal of Operation Worship is to deploy 100,000 bibles in 100 days! and thanks to our youth our church sold 150 of those 100,000! These are special bibles in a digital camo print that have a special area for someone to write a personal thank you or prayer to a GI they then return the bible and we deploy them. Way to go guys!!
